This is the regime that affects foreign citizens who are not EU citizens or part of a nuclear family dependent on a EU citizen, do not have a project that can be classified as an entrepreneur and have not made an investment in Spain under the terms of the law. These are the most common authorizations:

It is an authorization requested by an employer or business owner to hire a worker who is not located or residing in Spain.

This is an authorization that may be granted to foreign citizens who are in Spain continuously for a minimum period of 3 years, have financial means and either have family ties in Spain or are socially integrated.
Arraigo Trabalhista
It is a temporary residence permit for exceptional circumstances that may be granted to foreign citizens who are in Spain for a minimum continuous period of 2 years and have had employment relationships for a minimum of six months.
Family roots
This is an authorization that may be granted to foreign citizens who are in Spain and are either the father or mother of a minor of Spanish nationality, or are children of a father or mother who were originally Spanish.
Humanitarian Reasons
This is an authorization that may be granted for humanitarian reasons, such as for victims of racial crimes, gender crimes, crimes against workers’ rights, crimes against individual freedoms, or those suffering from a serious illness that requires specialized health care.
Authorization for Study Stay
It is an authorization that enables one to remain in Spain for a period of more than ninety days to carry out or extend studies at an authorized educational center in Spain, in a full-time program, leading to obtaining a degree or certificate of studies.
Residence Permit for Job Search or Starting a Business Project
This authorization can be requested by foreigners who have previously held a residence permit for studies and who have completed university degree studies.
Residence Authorization for Internships
It is awarded to foreign students who are studying a degree in Spain or who have completed a degree two years ago.
Residence Permit for Family Reunification
It is a temporary residence permit that may be granted to relatives of foreigners residing in Spain, by virtue of the right to family reunification.

The Community regime on foreigners applies to all foreign nationals of countries of the European Union, as well as to nationals of Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland, with which the European Union maintains specific agreements. These citizens have the right to enter, move around and settle freely within the territory of the European Union; this right can be extended to their dependent nuclear family.

Residence Permit for Highly Qualified Professionals
This is an authorization that can be obtained by a foreign worker residing outside of Spain to carry out a work activity for which a higher education qualification is required or, exceptionally, a minimum of five years of professional experience that can be considered comparable.
